Why The Band Boosters Need Your Help
Everyone loves football, basketball or baseball games at the high school. That’s why at many schools, the majority of the funds dedicated to sports go to those activities. Bands provide an integral part of the sporting experience, but without receiving enough funding to do all they need to do. It’s not fair, but that’s how it often works.
So in order to enable our band to do their job we need your help. Every year the band needs to replenish equipment, music, uniforms and people. You may only be able to help us for a few years, but your help is vital to our success.
Here’s a quick list of what we need help with right now:
- Large instrument replacement – $25,000. We can’t ask parents to pay $7,000 for a tuba or $8,500 for tympani drums. Our students are good about not abusing these instruments, but nevertheless, they eventually need to be replaced.
- New music scores: $300 or more for each quality piece.
The list goes on and on, and that’s just for football season. We also have concert and symphonic bands.
Some of our students win scholarships for college because you make it possible for them to achieve.
